Foods that heal.

The topic of food that is good for us and food that is not so good, is a discussion that has been on the minds of many since early in Biblical times.
Certain foods were off limits to people in those early times and are called out by name.

For instance, Pork is mentioned as unhealthy because a pig an abomination, then it will never cease to be an abomination and God has a very good reason for calling it as such.
A pig for instance will eat anything including its own urine and feces, rotting vegetables, maggots and even the decaying and rotting flesh of other animals’.
It is also known that a pig can be up to thirty times more toxic than the flesh of a cow, and also has twice as much fat as beef.

So eating pork is far more likely to lead to high cholesterol levels and a far greater increased risk of heart attack or cancer.

Pigs have high histamine levels and sulfur content that lead to high blood acidity.

According to the Bible a pig is so poisonous that God gave it a canal that runs down each leg with an outlet in the bottom of the foot, which passes the pus and filth the animals’ system can’t handle fast enough.

But still quite a bit of this fluid is passed into its flesh.

Pigs cannot sweat or perspire like other mammals either so the toxins that would otherwise be sweated out of the animal remain inside its body.

Pigs carry diseases that can be passed on to humans. God in the Bible even commands that we shouldn’t even touch their dead bodies (Leviticus 11:8)

Did you know that pigs are so poisonous that it is extremely hard to kill them with many poisons even as deadly as strychnine. Hard to believe?

Fish without fins and scales are either scavengers or carnivores and have a high level of toxins in their bodies.

Urea in sharks and other fish gives these creatures a distinctive flavor but the flesh is not healthful in the diet.

All crustaceans and mollusk shellfish have no scales and are therefore unclean.

These sea creatures include shrimp, prawn, lobster, scallops, mussels, oysters, squid, octopus, and crabs are all considered to be unfit for human consumption.

One fish that is eaten by lots of people is the catfish, in scripture this fish is not to be eaten because, it is scaleless and doesn’t have fins.

Not only that but it eats mostly all fecal matter along with the Tilapia. It’s hands off on sharks, swordfish, king mackerel, tilefish, albacore tuna, Spanish mackerel, orange roughy, bluefish, Chilean sea bass, Pacific ocean perch, Atlantic cod, American eel, Atlantic flatfish just to name a few.

We have covered several of the food that unfit for consumption, now let’s turn our attention to foods that are beneficial for us to eat.

Clean foods in the Bible are those that, in their natural state, do not harm the human body and which man can use for his nourishment and health.

It is only giving a historic account of ancient methods of choosing foods that were intended to be eaten by people of that period.

Who would have ever thought that such sound advice could come from the Bible? When we look at scientific research, it’s amazing how some of the same properties in suggested Biblical foods are supported by by scientist of our times.

Alcohol intake-gum disease…the connection

Many individuals who regularly consume excessive amounts of alcohol are at risk of many physical and mental health problems.

It has been stated that alcohol may be more dangerous than heroin.

We’ve been told for years that alcohol can damage the liver, but besides the liver there are other parts of our body that can also be damaged as well.

In fact, alcohol is so damaging that, if it is consumed in large enough amounts, it can damage every part of the human body.
We’ll be talking about a subject that is not as well-known as the effect of alcohol on the liver but how gums may be affected by heavy drinking.

Gum diseases cover numerous conditions, from inflammation of our gums to very serious and dangerous conditions.

With some of these conditions, alcohol itself is not the culprit but is made worse by the intake of alcoholic beverages.

Gingivitis causes the gums to become red and swollen, and they will also bleed easily.

This is the most common form of gum disease and it usually easily treated and doesn’t leave any lasting problems, if it is diagnosed and treated in time.
The next is Periodontitis can occur as a result of untreated gingivitis or as a result of some other disease.

It involves a serious inflammation that damages gum tissue and the teeth.

1–if a person sees blood after eating or brushing their teeth.

2–gums that are swollen.

3–sensitive or tender gums.

4–continuous bad breath.

5–pus in the gums

6–gums pulling away from the teeth.

7–spaces between the teeth.

1–alcohol can cause gum disease.

2–hormonal changes.

3–family history.

4–cigarrette smoking.

5–poor dental hygeine.

1–alcohol can lead to serious irritation of the gums.

2–those involved in substance abuse.

3–alcoholics have poor eating habits, this opens the door to immune problems, which is a gateway for other things.

1–never abuse alcohol or drugs.

2–practice good oral hygiene.

3–eating a balanced diet.

4–If there is any sign of redness or tenderness observed in the gums then this should be treated right away.

5–gargle regularly with mouthwash.

6–avoid too much sugar in any form.

7–cigarette smokers should quit.

8–get regular dental examinations.

There has been some confusion with the medical terminology surrounding gum disease, but it’s quite simple.

Gum disease is the general term used to describe all the stages of periodontal disease.

Gingivitis describes early (and reversible) gum disease. If gingivitis is not addressed, it can progress and develop into the more serious (non-reversible) stage of gum disease called periodontitis.

This condition very dangerous and attacks gums, bone and the connective tissue that holds teeth in place, eventually loosening teeth where they could fall out. Gum disease is now the leading cause of tooth loss and decay.

Gum disease, it’s sad to say, can increase the risk of various types of cancer (including breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, esophageal cancer and others), heart disease, stroke and other serious problems.

Pregnancy complications and low-birth weight in babies have also been linked to gum disease.

Harmful bacteria present in gum disease take up residence in the mouth, then are able to access the rest of the body using the bloodstream.

In other words, a person with active gum disease has an enemy slowly but surely eroding his or her health by poisoning their system with dangerous bacteria.
Realizing that the mouth is the “Open Door” by which all the bacteria that enters our body gets in, we should be extra cautious, not to allow giving extra care to the treatment of our mouth.

There is an old saying that goes ” an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” this so true in every area of maintaining the health of our body.

We are issued one chance to do things right concerning our health, if we blow that opportunity, we’ll have to pay for it, usually in pain and suffering and high cost medical treatments.

Be kind to your body today and long life!

Why Do Women Pay More For Health Insurance……………Sexism?

Is it gender rating that causes premiums for ladies health coverage to cost more than men?

It appears that the women in our country are still paying an inflated rated for insurance that covers the same issues that men have.

Because women tend to use health care services more than men, even though the benefits for women were down and the salary gap between women and women are thousands below the workforce average.

Clearly there is a problem with the system as it pertains to the cost of health care for the female gender.

There are still unexplained reasons why women are charged more and seemingly get less when it comes to health care.

Sexism, gender bias, that is the question that no one can clearly explain.

In our society, racism, discrimination as it pertains to religion or national origin is frown upon and claims to be an intolerable act that will not be accepted.

But along with all the commotion that is raised about any one of the items mentioned, we still expect women to pay much higher cost than men, when it comes to insurance premiums.
Regardless, of what one might think, if the issue is put under a microscope and examined closely, there is definitely gender inequity when it comes to female health coverage cost.

Can we ask a valid question? Why does this sort of thing exist today. Can we stop it or change the system to make it equal for women as well as men?
Gender inequality can cause many problems that maybe we may not even be aware of.

For instance, if you are born a female, it has already been established that females pay more for health care than men.

If, there should be an issue with your health that needs attention, could it be afforded or what happens to a minor child that is gravely ill.

Shouldn’t there be some kind of ethical awareness that comes to light when we talk about sexism or gender bias that affects the millions of women in our great country?

What are the real reasons that our Mothers, sisters, Aunts and female friends are the object or the unfairness that has been leveled toward them for just being born female.

Gender inequalities in health are a consequence of the basic inequality between men and women in ours and many other societies in the world.

Despite the importance of socioeconomic factors, women’s health is also greatly affected by the premiums charged and the quality of health services that are extended to them as a whole.

It is rather ironic that women are major health care users as well as providers, they are not represented in decision-making in health care.

Not only that, health care for women should be the same and not a separate agenda from a male patient perspective.
There are many improprieties when we address female care in the society.

Is there gender bias when it comes to very serious diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, liver disease or kidney disease.

The powers that be, state that, they pay attention to inappropriate health care for women on the one hand but there is still little change in the way things are being done.
