Cranial-Sacral Therapy in Applied Kinesiology
Life expresses itself as motion. At a deep level of our physiological functioning all healthy, living tissues subtly "breathe" with the motion of life. Even our spines and skull bones move as we breathe in and out.
Examination of the cranial bones in vivo shows that there is a micro movement of the cranial (skull) bones at the sutures; at death, these sutures of the skull rapidly become immovable.
The movement of the Cranium and the Sacrum (the triangular bone at the base of our spines) facilitates the movement of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) up and down the spine and throughout the skull bathing our brains, our spinal cord and the nerves that exit the spinal cord and innervate every organ, our circulation and our muscles. The CSF carries nutrients to the brain, spinal cord and nerves and removes waste caused by the metabolism of the cerebral and nerve metabolism.
Like the spine, the Cranium can have abnormal biomechanical motion due to physical injuries, bad habits like sleeping w/ an arm under your head, emotional and psychological stresses, birth trauma and toxicity
Abnormal biomechanical motion of the cranial-sacral system can affect such things as back and neck pain, headaches, mid-ear problems, visual problems, TMJ (jaw) pain, insomnia, cardiac output and digestion.
Applied Kinesiology gives the ability to objectively evaluate the cranial -sacral movement before and after treatment. Treatment is made digitally w/ the pressure of 5 lbs. (about the amount of force one uses to pet a cat's head).
